The Island’ Red-Carpet and Premiere at Leicester Square, London.
Last week in the heart of the West End at Leicester Square in London, saw the release of the anticipated feature film, The Island, by fashion designer Danish Wakeel.
The Island is a film inspired by the Italian cornucopia supervened by the heritage and the avalanche of Venice.
Danish Wakeel not only featured in the film itself but was hands on directing the film. Showing his talents in front and behind the camera.
“It was my first feature film and if I be perfectly truthful, being a fashion model and a fashion designer I had to step out of my comfort zone to make a feature film. It was an absolutely nerve racking and tiresome experience for me and I faced many problems which any director would face in his first film. But the experience has been extremely enriching and a real rewarding one. I amalgamated British professional actors with my fashion in the film and it was thrilling to flirt with a completely alien branch of creativity and juxtapose it with my craft”
One of the important highlights of the evening were the Inspirational talks about business start ups for young artists by Daniel Browne and Rafael Dos Santos, guests listened intently to what they had to say, both gave an excellent insight. Truly inspirational discussions.
The premiere was a jam packed event including some of the finest faces in fashion, film and business. Local and international press were present which complimented the atmosphere of the evening. To view behind the scenes footage click here.
Guests were treated to exclusive vouchers from the London Model Academy as well as refreshments and a brilliant after party all in the fabulous Leicester Square, London.
