Jaunt Accessories – An Interview With Founder Kim Lai | Lady Loves Fashion

Kim Lau of Jaunt Accessories I was fortunate enough to interview the founder of Jaunt Accessories, Kim Lai about her fabulous luxury accessories line, Kim has created a travel accessories brand for the jet setting woman, one which does not compromise on style or luxury, here is what she had to say.

LL: In three words how would you describe your handbag / accessories line and what makes it unique?
KL: Vibrant, Effortless and Thoughtful. We cater to women’s travel needs while still making sure our products are stylish and chic. We know it is not always easy to get to your dream destination and there is never enough space! We aimed to make the process a little more stress free. All of our bags can expand and compress flat so you can take more than one bag with you to wear with different outfits. We are unique because we address the fashion and the practical side of travelling.

LL: Who is the Jaunt Accessories woman?
KL: She is a stylish adventure seeker who is career-driven, whether single, in a relationship or a full time mother. The JAUNT woman appreciates fashion and travel and is always dressed to look her best no matter the destination. She loves fashion but understands it is not just about how it looks
and feels but also how it works.

SS14-131-edited(1)LL: Where does your inspiration come from for your designs?
KL: Every season the collection features vibrant colour combinations and beautiful materials inspired by a unique global destination. Anything from the colour of their architecture, to the traditional crafts, foods, people and  landscape. It all plays into the creation of our collections.

LL: What keeps you motivated as a designer?
KL: My love for creating. I have a constant urge of always having to create something new.

LL: What do you enjoy most about your job?
KL: I enjoy the problem solving aspect but what I love most is to be able to create beautiful products from my visions and seeing them come to life!

LL: Who is your favourite designer and why?
KL: My favourite designer at the moment is Kenzo. Great sillhouettes, colourful and playful. They don’t take themselves too seriously.

LL: What is your moto / mantra?
KL: Love what you do and find a way to make it happen.

Jaunt Accessories Resort ClutchLL: What is your favourite items from your collection and why?
KL: My favourite item from our collection is the Travel Clutch in Doria. (Available online on Friday 18th April) I love the Chevron print and lovely blue colour. It is a great size, so roomy and just brightens any outfit. The zip puller acts as a wrist strap so when you need your hands to take a photo, shop or eat on the go, it makes it easy!  It
also has padding in it so you can store your iPad.

LL: Where would you like to see your brand in the next three years?
KL: In the next 3 years I see our brand growing into a global vacation lifestyle brand. The name of our brand JAUNT- which means a short pleasurable journey, does not bind us to just bags, we would like to expand into other areas of fashion travel accessories such as shoes, sunglasses, towels, kaftans,
etc.  I would like JAUNT to be the go-to brand for holiday fashion for both women and men. We would like to open our first store in Notting Hill, London, since this is the birthplace of JAUNT, then we plan to expand globally.

LL: If you could be anything or anyone for a day who / what would it be and why?
KL: I would be a palm tree on the beach. Relax on the sand and admire the sea while drinking fresh coconut water all day long.

Visit Jaunt Accessories and fall in love with these luxurious designs.

  1. I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website.

It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more
often. Did you hire out a developer to create your
    theme? Fantastic work!
