Winner of the Royal College of Art Prize and a plethora of well known clients – including KENZO & Marc Jacob, Georgia Dorey is set to make some noise in the fashion industry. Her collection has a distinct Japanese influence.
On closer investigation, Dorey explores the Japanese notion of ‘Ma’ –
The belief that space between the layers and folds of a garment is more than simply a void, but rather a rich space that can possess a vast energy.
Looking through her collection, makes you feel warm inside. Technically, her designs are genius. Creative folding and wrapping without looking like the Michelin Man. But instead, like a piece of art. Ingenius and inventive.
