After ten years of being together, Mr LL asked me to marry him last August. Life has taken a complete turn and I honestly think I’m still on cloud 9. I still smile from ear to ear each time I look at my engagement ring (which is constantly) and a plastic surgeon cannot remove the smile from my face when he refers to me as ‘his future wife‘ it’s all terribly romantic and exciting. Sick bucket?
With that being said, there is a bloody mindfield to navigate your way through (as I am finding) with wedding planning. Who knew. I mean there is literally SO much to think about and plan. And decide before you plan. Not to mention costs, costs??!! Who knew saying the word WEDDING would catapult costs into the stratosphere. With zero exaggeration. Insane costs.
I was so delighted when Rosie Willett got in contact for me to share her collection, and offer Lady Loves readers an EXCLUSIVE discount code off of any of her Wedding Tiaras / Headpieces which is valid until the end of April 2017. Lucky you! (Use code LADYLOVES20 at checkout for 20% off until April 30th).
Last week, Rosie Willett gave us a little insight to find out more about the person behind the brand. Her intricate way of working and unique style makes her Headpieces one of a kind. It is so funny how you do not even classify things like this as ‘essential‘ until that ring is on the finger. But when it is, it’s all about the details and making your day exceptionally unique to you. Someone may have had the same dress as you in the past, but how you style it makes it totally unique to you.
I got a bit carried away selecting my favourites from the range. My inner princess came out and I just wanted to stand there trying one on after the other. Sadly I was perusing online rather than ‘instore’ but the vision in my head is still the same. Who knew miss minimal would start gushing over Swarovski crystals and pearls, donning the mother of all tiaras that sparkle from the heavens on the big day. Who am I?
That’s the thing about weddings, it brings out a side of you you never knew. And I don’t mean Bridezilla – we should all do our very best to silence the crazy beast inside. There is something magical about finding your wedding dress and planning your accessories and you really might surprise yourself with what you end up choosing.
So back to adding that special touch, that extra piece of individuality. I have chosen a selection from her collection which I love. It was really hard because let’s face it, Iv gone all magpie like and seem to be drawn to things that sparkle. It’s the bride in me. Other brides, you know what I mean. Not engaged yet? You probably think I’m batshit crazy, but that’s another story!
For the bohemian bride, April £151 – something to go with a relaxed bohemian vibe. Less of a tiara and more of a vine that can be intertwined into the hair to fall effortlessly and add a little sparkle to a simple hair style, with just the right amount of pearl and bling. Complete with ivory mother of pearl flowers, ivory freshwater pearl, Swarovski crystal leaf and pear shaped stones and clustered crystal beads. this headpiece can be adapted to your taste, so if dangling isn’t your style why not opt to have it as a band? The options are endless.
Something a little more simple for the minimalists, Adele 2 £87 – not everyone wants to make a dramatic impression on their big day. For those that are a little less sparkle but still need a little something, the Adele is perfect. A side band that can slip into the cutest of up-do’s as well as compliment a flowing ‘hair down’ do.
For the fashionistas, Hazel £150 a really nice embellished number complete with Swarovski crystal leaf and pear shapes that are strung together to create a slim flexible band that forms a beautiful waved shape that finishes just beyond the ears. I really like the bling of this one. Its not too in your face but can just imagine it catching thelight on your wedding day and being very glitzy – without looking too over the top.
For those that want to feel like a princess, the Magnolia Tiara £177 – can you feel your inner princess screaming for this one? I certainly can. I see this one working well with a nice sweetheart neckline, keeping the rest quite simple t with this powerhouse of jewels on your crown, literally like a queen.
Sometimes the best detail comes from behind, think about your train on your dress and how this number would make your hair stand out. I think this one and the top one (I am channeling bohemian for my wedding day) are more my style. I really like how this one drapes down the hair. Zara 1 £295
And if tiaras and Headpieces are not quite your thing, what about some delicate hair pins to strategically place within your hairstyle. Really simple and understated but enough sparky to catch the light and add some depth to your hairstyle. Mother of Pearl Floral Hair Pins £69.
Rosie has such a vast collection on her website, do take a look and don’t forget you can get 20% off at checkout using the code LADYLOVES20.
